Once a dancer ages out of the beginner level classes, they will have the option of two paths: the Studio Dancer Path (highlighted in purple) and the Pre-Professional Dancer Path (highlighted in pink).
Studio Dancer: The Studio Dancer Path is designed for the student who wants to take classes once a week. These classes are 30 minutes and students will learn new skills, technique, and a recital dance for each class. These classes are ideal for busy students who participate in many activities and only want to come to the studio one night a week.
Pre-Professional Dancer: The Pre-Professional Path is designed for the student looking to make dance their main focus. It is not a requirement for these dancers to have plans of dancing professionally, but it is expected that these dancers have the same work ethic and focus as the students training to dance professionally. These dancers will have classes multiple days a week. These classes will focus mainly on improving technique and gaining new skills while also learning a recital dance (pre-pointe classes and the Monday pointe class are strictly technique classes, they will not be learning a recital dance).
Any dancer that chooses to participate in the Pre-Professional Path is also welcome to take Studio Dancer classes. I know that dance is a social activity for many of our students and I would like to give the option for students to be able to stay in classes with their friends regardless of the path each of them chooses. It is my hope that having two paths will provide every student with the dance classes they are looking for.
